چکیده

We consider the neutralino proton cross section for detection of Milky Way dark matter for a number of supergravity models with gauge unification at the GUT scale: models with universal soft breaking (mSUGRA), models with nonuniversal soft breaking, and string inspired D-brane models. The parameter space examined includes m1/2 <1 TeV and tan β < 50, and the recent Higgs bound of mh >114 GeV is imposed. (For grand unified models, this bound is to be imposed for all tan β.) All coannihilation effects are included as well as the recent NLO corrections to b → sγ for large tan β, and coannihilation effects are shown to be sensitive to A0 for large tan β. In all models, current detectors are sampling parts of the paramater space i. e. tan β > ∼ 25 for mSUGRA, tan β > ∼ 7 for nonuniversal models,

Theoretical predictions for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter in the NMSSM

We analyse the direct detection of neutralino dark matter in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. After performing a detailed analysis of the parameter space, taking into account all the available constraints from LEPII, we compute the neutralino-nucleon cross section, and compare the results with the sensitivity of detectors. We find that sizable values for the d...

Prospects for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter in orbifold scenarios

We analyse the phenomenology of orbifold scenarios from the heterotic superstring, and the resulting theoretical predictions for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter. In particular, we study the parameter space of these constructions, computing the low-energy spectrum and taking into account the most recent experimental and astrophysical constraints, as well as imposing the absence of...

Recent Developments in Supersymmetric and Hidden Sector Dark Matter

New results which correlate SUSY dark matter with LHC signals are presented, and a brief review of recent developments in supersymmetric and hidden sector dark matter is given. It is shown that the direct detection of dark matter is very sensitive to the hierarchical SUSY sparticle spectrum and the spectrum is very useful in distinguishing models. It is shown that the prospects of the discovery...

Dark Matter Detection Cross Sections R. Arnowitt and B. Dutta

Dark matter detectors have now achieved a sensitivity that they have begun to probe interesting parts of SUSY parameter space. It is thus of interest to see what sensitivity will be needed to explore the entire space. To examine this we consider here models based on gravity mediated supergravity (SUGRA), where the LSP is generally the lightest neutralino (χ̃01). Neutralinos in the halo of the Mi...

Direct detection of neutralino dark matter in supergravity

The direct detection of neutralino dark matter is analysed in general supergravity scenarios, where non-universal soft scalar and gaugino masses can be present. In particular, the theoretical predictions for the neutralino-nucleon cross section are studied and compared with the sensitivity of dark matter detectors. We take into account the most recent astrophysical and experimental constraints ...

NMSSM neutralino dark matter

We study the viability of the lightest neutralino as a dark matter candidate in the Nextto-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Taking into account accelerator constraints as well as bounds on low-energy observables, and imposing consistency with present bounds on the neutralino relic density, we address the prospects for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter. We find regions of the ...
